Woodbridge residents are served by the award-winning Prince William County Police Department. For information such as crime statistics, volunteer needs and crime prevent tips, visit them online. The mission of the department is to enhance the quality of life of our residents by providing police services through shared responsibility with the public. The more than 845 members of this department – sworn and civilian – accomplish their mission by embodying their values in both our professional and personal lives, and through accountability to our citizens.

In addition to policing our communities, the department offers the opportunity for individuals to ride-along with a police officer during a normal tour of duty, and experience an officer’s day-to-day duties and responsibilities. Criminal justice students, and those interested in a career in law enforcement, have found it particularly useful. The Ride-Along program fosters a better understanding of the challenges, hazards and rewards of a police officer’s role in the community. Learn more online.
