With Prince William County’s efforts to widen a 1.3-mile stretch of U.S. 1 gaining steam, transportation officials are looking for public input before they move ahead with the project.

Supervisor Frank Principi of the Woodbridge District and county staffers came out for a public hearing on the $96 million project Nov. 16 at Fred Lynn Middle School, laying out the broad strokes of their plan to widen the highway from four lanes to six between Featherstone Road and Marys Way in the coming years.
