When a resident contacted Supervisor Principi’s office about litter along the ramps connecting Woodbridge to I-95, he contacted the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), which provided the following information, in addition to assurances that it will provide additional monitoring of the ramps:

Schedule: VDOT’s Interstate Maintenance group does three mowing cycles per year that include litter pickup and another three litter pickups, for six scheduled litter pickups total. In addition, the group performs spot litter pickups in problem areas.

No Littering Signs: Typically VDOT do esnot install these signs along the interstate system as it does not defer litter and in some cases increased the amount.

Customer Service Center: Residents can call 1-800-FOR-ROAD or visit https://my.vdot.virginia.gov/, 24 hours and a work order will be placed in the system.
