Regional transportation officials are seeking public comments on transportation spending that will likely redraw area maps and commuting routes over the next six years. The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority has 60 proposed projects worth a combined $2.4 billion vying for limited funding in the inaugural 2018-2023 Six Year Program. The total cost of the approved projects will be shared by the authority and the partner locality. The authority is accepting comments through midnight May 20…

…Each project has been graded on how it will reduce congestion, address travel time, and provide increased access, among other key factors like emissions reductions and safety improvements.

Comments may be emailed to, submitted at or mailed to 3040 Williams Drive, Suite 200, Fairfax, VA 22031.

Prince William County will be hosting one of two public meetings on proposed projects at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17. The meeting will be at Loch Lomond Elementary School, 7900 Augusta Rd, Manassas, VA 20111.
