Prince William County has a number of programs dedicated to our senior citizens, ranging from tax relief and free legal aid (to qualifying individuals) to social activities at the Senior Center. We have highlighted a few below, and encourage you to visit the PWC Area Agency on Aging online to view other available services.
County residents 65 years of age and older whose annual income is below $89,900, or residents with certain disabilities, may qualify for the following tax relief:
- Total exemption on Real Estate tax on home and up to 1 acre of land for incomes below $62,000 and partial exemptions for incomes $62,000-$89,900
- Personal Property Tax Relief
- Exemption from Solid Waste Fee

If you are a surviving spouse of a disabled veteran or spouse killed in the line of duty, you may be exempt from real estate and other taxes. Visit the link below for more information
High Mileage Vehicles

Prince William County has two senior centers; one in Woodbridge and another in Manassas. They are open weekdays for a wide variety of classes, programs and activities. Membership is open to persons 55 years of age and older and their spouses, regardless of age. Both of centers offer a wide variety of structured and unstructured activities and classes. Activities are designed to enhance health and wellness, strengthen the mind and give older adults an opportunity to enjoy time with friends. Activities and classes offered may include fitness, dancing, computer, seasonal parties, woodcarving, painting, cards, board games and a variety of craft programs. Exercise equipment, ping pong tables, and a pool table are also available.
A delicious and healthy lunch is served daily at 12 noon. The menu varies each day offering a hot lunch or chef’s salad as an option. Refer to the calendar in the monthly newsletter for the daily menu. Feel free to bring a guest or a family member if you would like. Daily reservations should be made by 10:30 a.m. in person or by phone. Nutrition services are targeted to those 60 years of age or older, and a donation is accepted.
For residents of Greater Prince William (County, Manassas and Manassas Park), membership is only $25/year, or drop-in for $2/day. Learn more.
