A new book is offering guidance to those who have recently become Homeowner’s Association (HOA) and Condominium Owner Association (COA) board members.

As she told What’s Up Woodbridge:

“A lot of people want to get on their board and get involved, but they don’t know quite what to do,” Steele said. “And so, this is a great handbook to get you started and understanding your role and your responsibility as a board member.”

The book also answers various questions that board members may have, such as “How do I run a board meeting?”

During the past several years, Steele has taught an “HOA/COA Leadership Seminar.”

Several class participants have asked Steele if there is a book that can help them understand what it means to be a board member.

“I realized there was a real lack in the market for a book that just talks specifically about being a Virginia HOA or Condo board member,” Steele said. “So, I thought, ‘Hey, I’ll write it.’”
