For members of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, “tax time” means the annual ritual of balancing critical community needs with a tax rate that is manageable for residents. We begin each December, authorizing the development of a budget for the fiscal year ahead, one based on the approved five-year plan, with strategic investment in core services for our growing community: road-building to alleviate gridlock, reduction of classroom overcrowding, increased access to mental health services and adequate fire and police staffing.
The County Executive then presents a Proposed Budget in February, which becomes the basis for budget discussions centered on achieving that balance. Your voice is critical as we finalize the budget, helping Supervisors to understand the services prioritized by County taxpayers.
