Foreclosure Rehabilitation Acquisition Program

The Prince William County Office of Housing and Community Development’s Foreclosure Rehabilitation Acquisition Program (FRAP) uses Neighborhood Stabilization Program funding through the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 to provide new homebuyers financial counseling, Homeownership Education, deferred loans for down payment, closing cost, energy efficiency improvements or rehabilitation for purchase of foreclosed properties in ten targeted census tract areas within the County. The Making Home Affordable Program was created help millions of homeowners refinance or modify their mortgage payments to a level that would be affordable now as well as in the future. This program offers two different potential solutions for borrowers: (1) refinancing mortgage loans, through Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) and (2) modifying mortgage loans, through the Home Modification Program (HAMP).
