The Potomac Nationals plan to leave Prince William County and build a state-of-the-art ballpark in Fredericksburg.Owner Art Silber announced that he had signed a letter of intent Tuesday night for the new $35 million ballpark that would open in April 2020.
After decades of playing at Pfitzner Stadium, the Minor League Baseball team and high Class A affiliate of the Washington Nationals had plans to build at a new site off Interstate 95 at Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center in Woodbridge. That deal fell apart last year because it hinged on financing through Prince William County.
