Have you heard of the Prince William Health District? Do you know what it is or what it does? If not, you are not alone according to Dr. Alison Ansher, the public health director of the Prince William Health district, or PWHD. So, the state agency is asking residents to participate in a survey to help PWHD understand how to better reach them.

“It is clear that the community does not understand the services the PWHD provides. The survey will help us understand where we need to outreach to the community so they understand all we have to offer and provide,” Ansher said.

Completing the 5-minute survey will also help people learn something about the health district, Ansher said “It will make the residents aware of services that they may not have known they can take advantage of and could also help us better design services or understand community needs.”

The survey will ask people if they’ve heard of PWHD, if they are familiar with the services it provides, and how likely they would be to use the services it offers, among other things. The survey will run through May 11.

“Completing the survey is a simple way to support the Prince William Health District in making Prince William a healthier place to live,” a PWHD press release stated.

The survey can be completed in three languages. To complete the survey in English, visit bit.ly/pwhealthsurvey. The survey may be completed in Spanish at bit.ly/pwhealthsurvey-espanol. Persian speakers can complete the survey at bit.ly/pwhealthsurvey-farsi, the release stated.

Visit http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/prince-william/locations/ for a list of all of the locations to pick up a printed survey, or call 703-792-5693.

PWHD is part of the Virginia Department of Health that serves Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.
