Smart Development. Better Transportation. Strong Neighborhoods. These are three of the pillars to Supervisor Principi’s Vision for a New Woodbridge. There is also a crucial fourth pillar: You. Ideas, participation and feedback from area residents is required for us to shape a community that we are all proud to call home. A North Woodbridge Charrette recently afforded an opportunity for members of the public to meet with elected officials and County planners to discuss a shared vision for the future.
Participants were broken into five working groups; use the links below to see notes from each, along with event photos and presentation. You can also learn more about Small Area Planning for North Woodbridge on the County website.
I was thrilled with the interest, turnout and participant engagement over the two evenings we gathered at the NOVA Regional Center for Workforce Education and Training facility to discuss the future of North Woodbridge. For years we have been studying, discussing and debating our individual visions for this critical gateway and now we have laid the groundwork for a collective effort that, coupled with the widening of Route 1 and the future Route 1/123 flyover, will provide a catalyst for development that is built upon the infrastructure needed to fully support it. I am eager to review the implementation plan, which should be available in the next 3-4 months, furthering progress on the ground work that will help make the Vision of a New Woodbridge a reality.
