Do you like to read? Then spend the summer with Rippon Lodge during Revolutionary Readers. Rippon’s summer book club invites young readers (rising 4th to 6th grade) to join. This summer explore books and topics connected to early American history through the eyes of young adults. Books this year are: “Bully for You, Teddy Roosevelt” by Jean Fritz on June 29; “Lincoln’s Flying Spies: Thaddeus Lowe and the Civil War Balloon Corps” by Gail Jarrow on July 13; “Dear America: The Diary of Abigail Jane Stewart, The Winter of Red Snow” by Kristiana Gregory on July 27, and “Black Whiteness: Admiral Byrd Alone in the Antarctic” by Robert Burleigh on August 10.
Each gathering of readers includes a discussion of the book, followed by interactive games, activities, crafts, food ways, and more. All titles are available at the local library and Amazon. Advance registration is required.
