CDC National Diabetes Prevention Program
The CDC National Diabetes Prevention Program is an evidence based lifestyle change program for preventing type 2 diabetes. Programs are conducted by lifestyle coaches who are trained on an evidence-based, CDC-approved curriculum. The National Diabetes Prevention Program is a year-long lifestyle change program consisting 22 hour-long sessions. The first eight sessions occur weekly, the second 8 sessions occur bi-weekly, and the final 6 sessions are held monthly.
Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center provides this service for $250. Payment is due upfront. Attendees may work with insurance and receipts can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement.
