The DC to Richmond High Speed Rail project, DC2RVA for short, consists of environmental reviews and preliminary engineering on a series of improvements to the existing rail corridor between Washington, D.C. and Richmond, VA, with the goal of determining the Preferred Alternative to increase rail capacity and speed within the corridor. It is being conducted through the mechanism of an Environmental Impact Statement to satisfy the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act. The Washington to Richmond segment will provide the critical link between the Northeast Corridor and the rest of the Southeast High Speed Rail Corridor. View the Executive Summary of the project below, and visit the DC2RVA site for FAQ, studies, interactive route maps and ways that you can get involved.
